India’s Booming Defense Industry

The discussion also highlighted India’s flourishing defense sector. During 2023-24, India saw a significant surge in defense manufacturing, hitting a peak of Rs 1. India’s trade turnover reached a whopping 27 trillion rupees, with exports surpassing 21 billion rupees for the very first time. These exports stretched across more than 90 nations, illustrating India’s expanding significance as a center for defense production and exports.The Department of Defense has laid out a challenging goal to raise exports to Rs 50,000 crore in the coming five years.

The “Make in India” Initiative
