Toggle“GOAT” joins Vijay’s past successful openers, such as “Sarkar,” “Beast,” and “Leo,” in surpassing ₹30 crore on their opening day.
In addition to Tamil Nadu, “GOAT” did very well in Karnataka, where it made over ₹9 crore, and in Kerala, where it made ₹6 crore. But in the Telugu states, the movie didn’t do as well. It didn’t make as much money on its first day as Vijay’s other movies.
While the film was praised for Vijay’s star power, it was critiqued for its lack of depth and strong character development.

“GOAT” stands on Vijay’s star power alone, highlighting his title as the “Greatest of All Time.” This is in contrast to “Leo,” which gained from being part of the “Lokesh Cinematic Universe” (LCU).
With such a good start, “GOAT” should continue to do well at the box office over the next few weeks. Analysts in the movie business are hopeful that the movie will break even more records and cement its place in Tamil film history.
