Haryana, September 9, 2024 The Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have said they will not work together for the future Haryana Assembly elections. This is a big change in politics. After a lot of talk and speculation about a possible coalition between the two parties, this choice was made.

The AAP and Congress will each run their own candidates in all of the constituencies and fight the polls on their own.

People think that both parties’ choice to go it alone was a smart move to boost their own political presence in Haryana.

The Haryana Assembly elections are scheduled for October 5, 2024, with the vote counting set for October 8, 2024

  • What the AAP Says: Sushil Gupta, the leader of the AAP in Haryana, said that the party is ready to run for all 90 assembly seats on its own. He stressed that AAP workers were ready and excited to take on the election task.
  • What Congress Thinks: Senior Congress Leader Jairam Ramesh of Haryana said the party has no intentions to cooperate with the AAP. Stated differently, he reiterated once more how Congress is preoccupied with its own campaign strategy for the state elections.

The absence of cooperation between AAP and Congress could intensify the competitiveness of the Haryana polls. When people vote, they will be able to select among more contenders and party programs.
