There was a heart-throbbing final, with India triumphing at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as it defeated New Zealand by four wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The match also set a new record for digital viewership, with JioHotstar recording a staggering 90 crore views by the end of the game. This beat earlier records, such as the 60.2 crore views of India-Pakistan match and 66.9 crore views of semi-final against Australia. The amalgamation of Jio and Hotstar into a single app has largely increased viewership on the platform, and it demonstrates how huge cricket has become in today’s digital times.

Prime Minister Congratulates the Team

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian cricket team on their superb performance, referring to it as an “exceptional game and an exceptional result”. The win brings another trophy to India’s cabinet, having won previously in 2002 and 2013.
