Influencer Orry and Seven Others Face Legal Action for Alleged Alcohol Consumption Near Vaishno Devi Shrine

Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, along with seven others, has been booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, near the revered Vaishno Devi shrine. The event has generated popular outrage as well as official calls for a strong reaction against the criminals.

On March 15, 2025, the Katra police brought an FIR against Orry and some of his friends for drinking alcohol in a Katra hotel. The friends named were Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Anastasia Arzamaskina. These are the places where people stay when they want to visit the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The accused were allegedly caught drinking in a cottage room inside the hotel, even though they had been told that alcohol and non-vegetarian food are not allowed in Katra to protect the holy site.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have pledged to protect the sacredness of religious sites and have warned that anyone breaking the law, especially by doing things like drinking alcohol at these holy places, will face harsh punishments. The police have promised that all the suspects, including Orry, will get letters telling them to help with the investigation. To make sure that those guilty are held responsible, a special investigation team has been put together and is being supervised by top police officers.

Rakesh Wazir, who is in charge of the Hotel and Restaurant Association in Katra, told guests to follow the rules and practices of the area. He also said that garlic and onion are not allowed to protect its purity. He made it clear that people in Katra shouldn’t drink alcohol. A lot of people are also very mad about what happened, and many users want Orry and his friends to get in big trouble. A lot of people on social media have spoken out against the alleged actions and asked that these people be banned from ever again going to Katra. Politicians have also had strong reactions to what happened.

A BJP MLA named Vikram Randhawa said that the security holes that let this happen should have been fixed. He said that the suspects’ bags should have been searched, and he asked how alcohol could have gotten into a place where selling it is illegal.

Another BJP leader, Balwant Singh Mankotia, said it was essential to keep Katra holy and asked for the harshest sentences for those responsible so that they would learn from their mistake and not do it again.

Orry, whose real name is Orhan Awatramani, is a famous person on social media who makes material. He is linked to several Bollywood stars.
