Traffic Advisory Issued for Republic Day Full Dress Rehearsals in Delhi

Delhi Traffic Police have issued an advisory with information on routes which will be restricted or diverted for full dress rehearsals ahead of the Republic Day celebrations. Traffic on major arteries to be affected; commuters told to prepare.

Traffic Restrictions

New Delhi: No vehicular movement will be allowed between 6:00 PM on January 22 and the completion of the rehearsal on January 23. Traffic will be barred on roads like Kartavya Path, C-Hexagon, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Netaji Subhash Marg.

Alternate Routes:

NORTH-SOUTH CORRIDOR: Ashram Chowk to Rajghat. Or Madarsa to AIIMS Chowk through Ring Road.

East West Corridor: — Bhairon Road to AIIMS Chowk Besides, the Route via Ring Road ISBT-Chandgi Ram Akhara can also be used by Travellers.

Metro Services

Delhi Metro services will be in operation, providing an alternate source of transport. Nonetheless, passengers are advised to factor in potentially longer journey times.

The advisory adds that goods vehicles will face temporary restrictions, and also requests the general public to avoid the Republic Day parade route from 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Essential services will not be affected.
