Mumbai, September 26, 2024 – It was an exciting episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) where Chander Prakash became the first crorepati of the 16th season. The show was hosted by the famous Amitabh Bachchan, and Chander won ₹1 crore and a brand-new car. It was an emotional moment.

Chander Prakash is 22 years old and from Jammu and Kashmir

He wants to work for the UPSC. Among other things, he has had a lot of problems in his life and has had to have several surgeries for stomach problems. He had these problems, but his willingness to learn and his hard work helped him reach this great goal. The audience erupted in applause as Amitabh Bachchan announced his victory and embraced him warmly.

The question that secured Chander’s place as a crorepati was:

“The largest city in which country is not its capital but a port with an Arabic name that means ‘abode of peace’?”

The options were

A. Somalia

B. Oman

C, Tanzania

D. Brunei.

Using the ‘Double Dip’ lifeline, Chander correctly answered Tanzania.

Although Chander Prakash successfully answered the ₹1 crore question, he chose to quit when faced with the ₹7 crore question:

“Who was the first recorded child born to English parents in North America in 1587?”

Without any lifelines left, he decided not to risk his winnings. When asked to guess, he chose Virginia Dare, which turned out to be the correct answer.

Getting to the KBC hot seat was hard for Chander on a personal level
