Sadly on October 12, 2024, outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office, Baba Siddique was shot dead. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for his murder, which has raised serious concerns about the safety of high-profile individuals, including Salman Khan.

Salman Khan has not made any press statement addressing the murder of baba Siddique. However, the incident has heightened security concerns for him.

BJP leader Harnath Singh Yadav asked Salman Khan to apologise to the Bishnoi community for the infamous blackbuck hunting episode that happened in 1998.

The Bishnoi community considers the blackbuck deities and therefore there was a history of ill will due to this incident. It was on October 12, 2024, that Baba Siddique, an ex-minister from Maharashtra and a recognized person in the Bollywood community, was shot outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office located in Bandra, Mumbai.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder. This gang has also issued threats to Salman Khan in the past, linking the two incidents.

Bishnoi’s criminal journey began in 2011 when he was inducted into the Punjab University Campus Students Council and came in contact with gangster Goldy Brar. Together, they started off with illegal activities and progressed to more serious offenses.

With the passage of time, a plethora of criminal charges have been hurled at Bishnoi which include attempted murder, assault, liquor business, and extortion. He has also been connected to high-profile murders, such as the assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.

Threats to Salman Khan

Salman Khan’s rivalry with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi goes back to an incident in 1998. The Bishnoi community, to which Lawrence belongs, considers the blackbuck a sacred animal.

Salman Khan’s involvement in the poaching incident has led to a long-standing grudge. Bishnoi has issued multiple threats to Salman Khan, including letters and violent attacks.

Arrests

Two arrested in connection with these events are stated to be Gurmail Baljit Singh (23) from Haryana, Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap, 19 years from Uttar Pradesh. The investigations are still on, and attempts are being made to arrest a third suspect who is a fugitive from justice.
