Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22 to remember when the modern environmental movement began in 1970. The day was created by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson and environmental activist Denis Hayes. It has grown into a worldwide event with more than a billion people from more than 190 countries taking part. ​

She helped start Climate Revival, a group that uses art and stories to bring attention to environmental problems. Smith’s work mixes art with activism to get people to do something about environmental problems.

  • Siemens India: Advanced renewable energy integration through solar-powered manufacturing, attaining 90% renewable energy consumption in FY24. ​
  • Akshayakalpa Organic: Akshayakalpa Organic has pioneered sustainable dairy techniques, such as recycling nearly 50,000 kg of plastic through its “Give Back the Milk Pack” campaign. ​
  • Flipkart: Flipkart has integrated sustainability into e-commerce by deploying over 10,000 electric vehicles and using 100% renewable energy in its data centers and warehouses.
  • KFC India and McDonald’s: KFC India and McDonald’s have transformed quick-service restaurants by embracing green construction techniques and focusing on recyclable and biodegradable packaging. ​
  • Jindal Foundation: The Jindal Foundation empowers communities via sustainability programs such as organizing Eco Clubs in schools and providing safe drinking water to millions.
