The video by Apoorva Mukhija talks about why she chose to be on Samay Raina‘s show and what she thought happened during and after the show. She is honest about how people reacted to what she said on the show and admits that she might have accidentally hurt some people. She feels bad about what she did and says,
“I genuinely create content to entertain people and make them laugh. I never wanted to hurt anybody. I am very, very sorry. I should have been more mindful about my words, but I have learned my lesson, and I promise I will do better going forward.”
Muskhija also talks about the bad things that happened to her, like death and rape threats, which hurt her and her family emotionally. She shares,
“You don’t expect that statement in front of a live audience. When I said that, it genuinely didn’t come from a place of being funny or creating a moment on Latent or being savage; it genuinely came from anger and retaliation.”
The ‘India’s Got Latent’ episode in question featured panelists such as comedian Jaspreet Singh and content creator Ashish Chanchlani, alongside Apoorva Mukhija and Ranveer Allahbadia. After the public outcry, the National Commission for Women (NCW) and the cops called all the people involved, including directors Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra. Apoorva Mukhija has visited the Mumbai Police Station since then to provide their version of the events.
