Widely known as BeerBiceps, popular YouTuber and video producer Ranveer Allahbadia has publicly apologised after major criticism of a divisive comment made on an episode of the online reality show ‘India’s Got Latent.’ Comedian Samay Raina hosts the show, which calls on several online stars as judges.
“Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day or join them to finish it once and for always?” Allahbadia asked a participant in a recent show. Online viewers as well as the live crowd responded immediately negatively to this statement.

Dealing with the controversy, Allahbadia turned to social media to atone. He stated, in a video message, “My joke wasn’t just improper; it wasn’t even humorous. My strong suit is not a comedy. I am only here to apologize. Many of you questioned whether this is how I wanted to use my platform; clearly, this is not how I want to use it.” He underlined his will to use his platform more sensibly in the future and also admitted the slip of judgment.

Along with popular indignation, the episode has resulted in legal ramifications. Alleging the use of violent language on the show, an official complaint has been lodged in Mumbai against Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and colleague panelist Apoorva Mukhija.
“Everybody has freedom of speech; but, our freedom ends when we violate the freedom of others…,” Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated. Our society has set some rules; breaking them is rather negative and requires the punishment of the offender.”
