India’s T20I star, Suryakumar Yadav, spoke to the media before the first T20I match against England at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He talked about why he wasn’t chosen for the Champions Trophy 2025 team. Suryakumar, an important player in T20 cricket, was not chosen for the 15-member team for the upcoming ICC event.

In a straight-forward press conference, Suryakumar Yadav said he did not care much about the decision and admitted that he hadn’t played well enough in ODIs to warrant a place. “Why would it hurt? If I do well, I will get a spot in the Champions Trophy. He said it’s important to accept it if I don’t perform well.

The cricketer from Mumbai emphasised that the selected players earned their places on the team by performing well in both foreign and local games. Everyone there does a good job. “They have performed well in that type of game for India and in domestic cricket, and I’m really happy for them,” he said.

Many are surprised that Suryakumar was left out, considering his strong performance in T20 cricket. His ODI stats show a different picture: he has 773 runs in 37 matches, with an average of 25.76. Even though Suryakumar has had a tough time in the 50-over games, he is still determined to help India win the T20I series against England.
