Saif Ali Khan Hospitalized After Stabbing Incident at Mumbai Home

Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was injured during an attempted robbery at his home in Bandra (West), Mumbai, early on January 16, 2025.

It happened around 2:30 AM when someone broke into the house while the family was sleeping. Saif Ali Khan fought with the invader and was stabbed several times during the fight.

The disturbance woke other house residents, driving the intruder off the site. Mumbai Police have started an inquiry and are actively hunting for the culprit.

Saif Ali Khan was hurried to Lilavati Hospital, where physicians started treating his injuries. The Chief Operating Officer of the hospital, Dr. Niraj Uttamani, claims the actor suffered six wounds—two of which are deeper—one close to his spine. He is currently under operation by a team of experts comprising neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and anesthetist Dr. Nisha Gandhi. Only after the operation will the entire amount of the harm be revealed.

Living with Saif Ali Khan in the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra West are his family—including his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their two sons, Taimur and Jeh. They are right now at his side in the hospital.

In an official statement, Saif Ali Khan’s team confirmed the event, “Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s house was the target of attempted burglary. Right now he is in hospital having surgery. We ask journalists and supporters to be patient. It’s a police matter. We will let you know how things stand.
